The Pie Chart can be used to visualise the contribution of various categories to the whole.
1. Choose ProcessMA > Graphs > Pie Chart.
2. In Data in, choose how your data is stored.
a. If your data in stored as raw data:
- In Variable, select the column containing the raw data
b. If your data in stored as summarised table:
- In Category, select the column containing the category labels.
- In Frequency, select the column containing the frequency corresponding to each category.
3. Click OK.

4. In Combine category below %, enter the percentage value to combine categories as ‘Others’ when frequency percentage fall below that value.
5. In Order data by, select the method of ordering the slices of the pie.
Note To select a column of data into a textbox, double-click on any of the column names shown in the list on the left of the dialog box while in the textbox.
Variable: Text or numeric.
Category: Text or numeric.
Frequency: Numeric.
Combine category below %: Numeric; between 0 and 100.
You are the sales manager and you have collected past 3 months data on the sales made by various account managers. You want to use the Pie Chart to visualise the contribution to sales by the various account managers working for you.
1. Open worksheet ProcessMA > Tools > Data Files > Sample.xls.
2. Choose ProcessMA > Graphs > Pie Chart.
3. In Variable, select E – Account Manager.
4. Click OK.
