The Process Mapping tool helps you draw diagrams like process maps, value stream maps, etc. You can type directly in the drawing worksheet and let ProcessMA draw automatically for you or you can draw using the Toolbar.
At the Excel Menu (For Excel 2007, go to Add-ins first)
Method 1: Create a process map using the toolbar
To launch the toolbar (shown in the figure below), choose ProcessMA > Quality Tools > Process Mapping > Toolbar
To draw symbols, click on the appropriate symbol (SB) buttons
To view more symbols, click on the tabs on the top of the toolbar
To add colours to an existing symbol, select the symbol first (by clicking on the outline of the shape) and click on the appropriate colour buttons
To draw connectors, click on the appropriate connector buttons and click on the connection points of any existing symbols you wish to connect
To enable option to snap (align) symbols drawn to the gridlines on the worksheet, click on the snap-to-grid button
Method 2: Draw as you type
To draw a standard symbol, type anywhere on the worksheet and let ProcessMA draw automatically
To draw-as-you-type, select On in Cell I1. Conversely, to disable draw-as-you-type, select Off in Cell I1
You can also specify the size of the symbol drawn. Enter the number of grid intervals you want to set for the the height and width in Cell I2 and Cell I3 respectively
To draw multiple symbols at once, copy / paste a list of words onto the process mapping worksheet
To draw specific symbols, type the appropriate prefix followed by '>' and the text you wish to insert into the symbol. The prefixes are displayed in the toolbar. Example, if you type 'pd>Approve case', a Pre-defined symbol will be drawn with the entered text embedded
You can also draw specific symbols by typing keywords. For example, if you type "Create document", a Document symbol will be drawn with the entered text embedded. The word 'document' is a listed keyword for the Document symbol. You can customize your own keywords using the toolbar. Remember to click the Save button to store your changes. To restore keywords to original settings, click the Default button. To exit without saving, click the Close button.
Draw a connecting symbol: Type in the nearby cells of an existing symbol (shown highlighted) to draw a connected new symbol
Change existing symbol: Type the appropriate prefix in the cells below an existing symbol (shown highlighted) to change it to a new symbol
