Overview

The Scatter Plot plots observations based on its x and y coordinates.

 


 

How to

At the Excel Menu (For Excel 2007, go to Add-ins first)

  1. Choose ProcessMA > Graphs > Scatter Plot

  2. In Variable (Y), select the column containing y variable data (Numeric)

  3. In Variable (X), select the column containing x variable data (Numeric)

  4. Click OK

 

 

Example

You want to model the relationship between the size of the valve and the speed of the machine. You collected data on various settings of the valve size and the resultant speed of the machine. You want to visualise the relationship in a Scatter Plot.

  1. Open data worksheet by choosing ProcessMA > Tools > Data

  2. Choose ProcessMA > Graphs > Scatter Plot

  3. In Variable (Y) , select O - Speed

  4. In Variable (X) , select P - Valve

  5. Click OK
