Affinity Diagram
Affinity Diagram is a technique that allows a project team to group a large number of ideas into related categories. It is useful for organising facts, opinions and issues into natural groups to help diagnose a complex situation or find themes among them.
Steps
- Gather ideas generated.
- Write ideas on cards (one idea per card).
- Post cards randomly on a board or flip chart.
- Allow the group to organise the cards into clusters.
- Create a ‘theme’ (label) that captures the essence of each cluster
