To start ProcessMA (depending on the Windows version), choose Start > All Programs > ProcessMA > ProcessMA. Excel will start automatically if it is not yet started. If Macro Security Level is set to Medium, a Security Warning dialog box will appear, click Enable Macros to start ProcessMA. Thereafter, ProcessMA can be accessed from Excel menu bar. For Excel 2000-2003, ProcessMA will be located in the menu toolbar after the Windowns menu item. For Excel 2007-2010, it will appear in the Add-Ins ribbon. Click on the ProcessMA menu to select the tool of your choice.

Setting Macro Security Level

To enable ProcessMA add-in to run in Excel, you need to set Excel's Macro Security Level to Medium (recommended) or Low. To do so, follow the steps below

For Excel 2000-2003

  1. In Excel, choose Tools > Macro > Security
  2. Click Security Level tab, select Medium or Low and click OK
  3. Restart Excel for the new setting to take effect

For Excel 2007-2010

  1. In Excel, click on the Microsoft Office button (top left corner) followed by Excel Options
  2. At the left panel, click on Trust Center. On the right panel click Trust Center Setting.
  3. Click Macro Settings and select Disable all macros with notification (recommended) or Enable all macros and click OK
  4. Restart Excel for the new setting to take effect

 

Auto-Start ProcessMA with Excel

There are 2 methods to start ProcessMA automatically when you start Excel

  1. Save a copy of ProcessMA.xla in Microsoft Startup folder
  2. Add ProcessMA as an Excel add-in

Method 1: Save a copy of ProcessMA.xla in Microsoft Startup folder

If you save a copy of ProcessMA.xla in the Microsoft Office startup folder, ProcessMA will start automatically when you start Excel. First, make a copy of ProcessMA.xla file. If you install ProcessMA in the default folder, it should be located in C:\Program Files\ProcessMA. Place the copy of ProcessMA.xla in any one of the following startup folders (depending on the Window/Office version you are working on):

- C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\OfficeXX\Xlstart
- Win98/ME: C:\Windows\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel\Xlstart
- Win98/ME: C:\Windows\Profiles\User name\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel\Xlstart
- Win NT: C:\Winnt\Profiles\User name\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel\Xlstart
- Win 2000: C:\Documents and Settings\User name\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART
- Win XP: C:\Documents and Settings\User name\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART
- Win Vista: C:\Users\user name\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Excel\XLStart

Method 2: Add ProcessMA as an Excel add-in

Alternatively, you can add ProcessMA as an add-in by following the step below:

For Excel 2000-2003:

  1. In Excel, choose Tools > Add-Ins and click the Browse button
  2. Browse to ProcessMA folder (default at C:\Program Files\ProcessMA), select the ProcessMA.xla file and click OK
  3. In the Add-Ins dialog box, check ProcessMA and click OK

For Excel 2007-2010:

  1. In Excel, click on the Microsoft Office button (top left corner) followed by Excel Options
  2. At the left panel, click on Add-Ins. Under Manage at the right panel, select Excel Add-ins and click Go.
  3. Click the Browse button
  4. Browse to ProcessMA folder (default at C:\Program Files\ProcessMA), select the ProcessMA.xla file and click OK
  5. In the Add-Ins dialog box, check ProcessMA and click OK

Note: Add-ins in Excel may detach itself for one reason or another. You may need to re-attach ProcessMA again if that happens.
